Larry Bieber - Guitar and Vocals
Larry began a life long infatuation with the guitar in his late teens,
relatively late for most guitarists. In his childhood, he was
constantly exposed to music through his mother's love for the piano and
through the record collections of his siblings. It was a chance
introduction to the guitar, coupled with his early exposure to music
that set off an enduring quest to make music. From this initial
moment, he began a long, intense period of 'wood shedding' that was
fortuitously enabled by several health events - a succession of broken
bones and subsequent casts. He became a student of the guitar and
music in general and his study of music has taken him on a lifelong
journey through many genres, including blues, rock, funk, and jazz.
His
musical influences are many and this can be heard in his playing. He
has an uncanny ability to meld the playing of the ghosts of the past
with his own style to create a unique and heartfelt music. His
influences include, in no special order, ALL the Kings,
Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, Buddy Guy,
Albert Collins, Hollywood Fats,
Duke Robillard, Robben Ford, Little Walter, Gary Primich, Steve Cropper,
Billy Gibbons, Jimmy Nolen, Walter Horton, Leo Nocentelli… The list is
constantly changing and expanding. Unlike many musicians, Larry has not
been fortunate enough to sniff the rarified air surrounding his many
influences and has not played with or shared the stage with any of his
idols.
Larry
believes that there is something rarely found in today's music scene.
There is a shortage of musicians performing heartfelt, authentic music that is drenched in
raw energy and vitality. That distinctive brand of music that can only
be performed by someone whose soul and spirit stands upon the shoulders
of the greats - the kind of music that can only come from the depths of
the heart and soul. Larry puts his heart, soul, and spirit into every
performance. He views it as a blessing and an obligation to connect
with his audience and inject them with the genuine spirit of roots
music.
Scott
McClure - Bass Guitar

Scott began playing upright bass in the early 1960’s, focusing on jazz
and orchestral music. By 1966, he discovered that the electric bass
guitar could eliminate the need for the cheesy sounding bridge pickups
and blistered fingers which he had encountered while attempting to play
acoustic bass in rockabilly and Ventures cover bands. For many years, he
played in bands in Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis and Birmingham. In that
context, he was immersed in a rich amalgam of R&B, blues, bluegrass,
soul, and eclectic rock music.
Scott played with Rich Mountain Tower before it morphed into the
Amazing Rhythm Aces in the 70’s. He has played in numerous venues
throughout the United States, and he has recorded albums in prominent
studios, notably Bradley’s Barn (Nashville), Woodland Sound Recorders
(Nashville), Muscle Shoals Sound Recorders, and Streeterville Studios
(Chicago—current home of Alligator Records). He has shared the stage
with Rufus Thomas, Richie Havens, the Four Seasons, the Young Rascals,
Greg Allman, Memphis Slim, Piano Red, Tracy Nelson, ZZ Top, Seals and
Crofts, Ten Wheel Drive, The James Gang, Steppenwolf and many others.
Among Scott’s most significant stylistic influences are James
Jamerson (Motown Records), Donald “Duck” Dunn (Stax Records), Tommy
Shannon (Johnny Winter/SRV), Paul McCartney (Duh) and Johnny B. Gayden
(Albert Collins).
Lloyd Trujillo - Hammond B3
and Synthesizers

Lloyd has been playing keyboards of various kinds for over
thirty years. He started out on guitar, and also enjoys
playing harmonica. However, the piano became his passion and he
soon discovered the joys of the mighty Hammond B3 organ. He
rightly proclaims that “nothing else sounds like a real B-3”,
and so he has a van which is specially designed to carry the
Hammond and his massive Leslie 122 to gigs. He also utilizes
Yamaha and Roland piano and synthesizer modules to round out his
sound. This combination of keyboards allows Lloyd to address a
wide variety of sonic possibilities from jazz to rock, but he
especially loves to play “classic rhythm and blues tunes.”
Lloyd has
become a well-recognized figure in the Colorado Springs music
scene since he returned from a “musical sabbatical to rekindle
my passion for ensemble playing” in recent years. He welcomes
the opportunity to use all of his many keyboard capabilities in
the wide range of musical genres which are performed by Mystic
Biscuit.
A few of the
prominent influences which inform Lloyd’s current style are Al
Kooper, Brian Auger, Jimmie Smith, Lee Michaels, Jon Lord and
Booker T.
Tim Reyes - Drums

Tim's forte
is his ability to play from his heart and soul. He gives
you that beat that makes you want move. As a Colorado Springs
native, Tim has played with numerous local bands and has played
all over the United States with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle
Corp. With over 25 years of experience, his solid drumming
abilities make for a perfect match with Mystic Biscuit. Playing
professionally since the age is 12 has made Tim a bad boy. Wait
until you hear him play.
Kevin Roe - Trumpet, guitar
Playing trumpet has been an
important part of Kevin's life for the past 25 years. He has
studied with many different musicians ranging from university
professors to professional performers and composers. He marched
in the Suncoast Sound, as well as the Cadets of Bergen County
drum and bugle corps, touring and performing around North
America. He studied music education and computer music
technology in college and although did not pursue a career in
music, he still actively strives to make music as often as he
can. Some of his trumpet influences include Wynton Marsallis,
Arturo Sandoval, Allen Vizzutti, Al Hirt, Maynard Furgeson,
Dizzy
Gillespie,
and Miles Davis just to name a
few. Kevin has played professionally with numerous big bands
playing a variety of music from Glen Miller, Henry Mancini, Bob
Mintzer, Chicago, Tower of Power (the list goes on and on). He
played lead trumpet with several salsa bands composed mostly of
military musicians and gigged regularly at the officer's clubs
of the various military installations around the Tidewater,
Virginia area including Langley AFB. Kevin believes that the
sound that can be created by a talented group of live musicians
is unlike anything else you can experience so come down and give
us a listen at our next show!
